This is how to make a 45m radio telescope paper craft at the Nobeyama Radio Observatory of the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan.
First, let me explain with a 1/400 photograph.
Let's start.
"Lower Equipment Room" and "Collimator Tower"
"Secondary mirror stay"
Be careful as it is easy to mistake the place to paste. A hexagonal column is created in the middle. "Secondary mirror" is attached to the bottom.
"Center hub and depressing gear"
(The holes are hexagonal in this image, but they are circular in the development view of the sheet.)
“Mounting frame” and “restriction axis”
"Beam transmission system ① and ②"
First, connect the hexagonal hole of the beam transmission system ① through the ``depression shaft''. Just by coming to the position where the part stands out, it will be in shape)
Next, insert the "beam transmission system ②" into the round hole of "beam transmission system ①"
Close the lid of the box of the beam transmission system ①
"elevator"
Make a cylinder and put two lids on top of each other to close it
Attach the "restriction axis part" and set the suppression angle axis on the stand.
Glue "sunshade panel 3". Don't throw away the round hole in the middle of the "pedestal" and paste it on top of it.
Fit the "sunshade panel 2"
Glue the parts that you are concerned about.
The "elevator" is also inserted. Glue the "beam transmission system" and "elevator" to the glue on the side of the "lower equipment room".
"Primary mirror panel 1" Slide the slit to form a ring Apply glue to the joint of the ring to fix it in place
After folding the “pedestal” ①, cover it with ② and snap it into the slit.
Up to this point, it will look like this!
Fit the "sunshade panel ①"
After making a loop of the "shade panel ③", insert the "secondary mirror stay" into the three slits, open the tip and glue it.
Glue the “primary mirror panel” and the “sunshade panel” together.
Apply the glue at four points on the top, bottom, left and right. If you stick it, the paper will warp.
Double-sided tape is also useful.
Open the wings of the "bottom of the base" and insert it into the hole of the "pedestal"
done!
The frame and panel are movable, so let's move them slowly.
Good luck today
